Tigers Extend Bonderman

Jason Beck is reporting the Tigers have signed P Jeremy Bonderman to a 4 year extension through 2010.  This has also been reported on WXYT and WDFN.

The terms haven't been released, however.  Stay tuned for more on this signing when more info is available.

I'm pretty pumped about this.

Update [2006-12-18 17:20:24 by Mark]:OK, it looks like we have the terms of the contract straight from Yahoo Sports.

Pitcher Jeremy Bonderman and the Detroit Tigers agreed Monday to a $38 million, four-year contract. Bonderman, who would have been eligible for free agency after the 2008 season, gets $4.5 million in 2007, $8.5 million in 2008 and $12.5 million in each of the following two seasons.
To put this in perspective, Gil Meche got 11 mil a year.

Awesome news out of Detroit today!

What was Bonderman slated to make in 2007 and 2008 before the signing of this contract?

he probably would have fallen into the $4-5 mill area form the hearing. This actually locks him up through his first two years of free agency too.
