The Tigers' Two Arizona All-Stars

Tonight, the Arizona Fall League will have its All-Star Game - or as they call it, the Rising Stars Showcase.  And two of the prospects that the Detroit Tigers sent to Arizona will be participating.

Pitcher Casey Fien and outfielder Casper Wells have been named to the American Division squad.  So far this winter, Fien has pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings, compiling a 2-0 record with nine strikeouts and no walks.  Wells has batted .207/.425/.310 with one home run and four RBIs in 34 plate appearances.

Lisa Winston wrote a profile of Wells for MLB.com, which you can read here, along with quick notes on each of the Tigers' other AFL prospects.

The teams were determined by scouting and minor league directors from each major league organization, as well as the AFL executive director.  The Mets had the highest number of players chosen, with three.  The complete Rising Stars rosters are listed here.

The Arizona Fall League's schedule runs through November 20.
