Like Stripes on the Fur Coat of a Tiger - 11/12

  At the MLB.com Hot Stove blog (It's hot!), Jason Beck reports that the Tigers have not been in contact with pitcher Freddy Garcia since the season ended.  As their free agent, Detroit has had exclusive negotiating rights with him for the past two weeks.  Garcia's agent says that a few other teams have expressed interest, however.

   For all our recent talk about catchers, the aforementioned Mr. Beck profiles the Tigers' incumbent backstop, Dusty Ryan, who's getting work in the Puerto Rican Winter League.

  I might as well mention my own personal Twitter feed, since that door's already open.  If you want to know what I'm eating for lunch or watching on TV, it can make for some fascinating 140-character entertainment.  And I'm not even complaining much about politics anymore.  Follow?

  On his Freep.com blog, Jamie Samuelsen says no to Detroit signing Trevor Hoffman.

  Did you know Bless You Boys has a Facebook page?  I know it's the slow season, but if you want to post any notes or photos over there (someone has to have a cool Tigers tattoo), it could someday become quite the social network.

  One reason Kevin Gregg struggled at the end of last year for the Florida Marlins?  He had patella tendonitis in his left knee.  Surgery was just performed to correct the problem, which is something the Tigers will surely consider in any potential trade discussions.
