Clearly, We Do Not Catch Everything

I like to think we're pretty well informed here at BYB, and stay on top of Tigers-related content for the benefit of you, the readers.  I'd also like to think the scope of our reach extends beyond Tiger Town, out toward the baseball world at-large.

But once in a while, something happens to remind us that we just can't know everything, and we're left to shake off the surprise of being caught off-guard.

Did anyone reading this know ESPN's Tim Kurkjian was in Grand Rapids last night, speaking at the Gerald R. Ford Museum Auditorium?  I, and the rest of the BYB team, most certainly did not.  Would I have attended this event, had I known about it?  Well, maybe.  Grand Rapids is a bit of a hike (two-hour drive) from Ann Arbor.  But I would've liked knowing that I could've.

Apparently, the western side of Michigan is a bit out of our reach.  (Really, I try not to venture far out of Ann Arbor.)  And maybe that applies to the metro Detroit newspapers too, since none of them had anything on this.  I mean, it's not exactly news, either.  But it's still kind of notably cool.

I mean, is this a great game or what?

You can read Kurkjian's Q&A with the Grand Rapids Press' Gary Bond here.

I knew about it.....

My bad I didn’t let you know. I check out your site about once a week. I thought about going, but I play basketball Wednesday nights…….I live about 15 minutes from the Museum.

In case you don’t know, but by now I assume you do, the Gerald R Ford Museum is hosting a 50 Greatest Players Exhibit until January 4th. December 7th is free admission. Includes lost of artifacts from Cooperstown.
