Some Sunday Morning Perspective
I know we deal with the Detroit Tigers here at BYB, and many of our readers are fans of professional football teams in other cities. But if you're one of the poor saps who insists on suffering through this Detroit Lions season (no offense, Big Al), you might appreciate this bit of perspective posted by Tom Kowalski at MLive.com:
To help illustrate just how bad the Detroit Lions' 0-9 record really is, compare it to some other sports.
[...] If the Detroit Tigers had stumbled out of the gate as poorly as the Lions, their record would extrapolate to 0-91.
Of course, the Tigers' first week in April felt like 0-91.
For the first time in my life as a Detroit sports fan, I've washed my hands of a team. The Lions are dead to me. And it feels kind of liberating. I've never gotten more yardwork or reading done on Sunday afternoons, or seen more movies, than I have this football season.
How are you handling your pro football? And who's your team? It's halfway through the season, so it's probably too late to take suggestions for a team to adopt, but I'm always listening.
By the way, Pride of Detroit has your SB Nation Lions view, if you insist on prolonging the agony.

I adopted the Bronco's a long time ago
Right when I became a football fan. I wouldn’t recommend it right now, they are very tigeresque, with a high powered flashy offense saddled by an injury ridden incredibly poor defense.

Go Bears
The Bears tend to blow games late. Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton are like Rodney and Zumaya sometimes. You’d feel right at home with them.

GO BEARS
ROGO I AGREE 100%. I THINK ORTON IS GUNA PLAY TODAY. CHICAGO WINS TODAY.

NY Giants
The Giants are good. I adopted them as my team 3 years ago.

The Lions are a train wreck I can't stop from watching
Plus, as the Lions are part of the core coverage of TWFE (feel free to stop by my live blogging!), I have no choice but to watch. But yes, I still root for the Lions. I’m not a bandwagon rider, rooting/adopting another team. I just can’t do it.
But at this point, I’m rooting for the Lions…to go 0-16, as that would eliminate ANY chance of the current regime returning next season.
I’m a “poor sap” indeed.

Rooting?
Yeah, I want to see 0-16, too. This thing must be destroyed for it to have any chance of being rebuilt. And the only thing that might convince W.C. Ford to bring in the wrecking ball is to be historically bad.
