TigsTown Roundtable: Will Magglio Ordonez Be Traded?
TigsTown.com has been inviting other writers who follow the Detroit Tigers to participate in weekly roundtable discussions on a particular subject. Last week's guest writer, for example, was Lee Panas from Tiger Tales.
This week, I get to sit at the roundtable with the TigsTown crew. Unfortunately, I think I was supposed to bring the donuts and totally forgot.
Our topic: Will the Tigers trade Magglio Ordonez?
You can read this week's discussion here, and I'll be writing a feature article to be posted later in the week. TigsTown.com is a subscription site (Sign up!), but you can view the roundtables for free.
Feel free to chime in on whether or not Maggs will be with the Tigers next season here. I know we had a poll question on it last week, and 67% of you thought The Big Tilde was staying, but state your case in the comments.
Thanks to TigsTown Executive Editor Paul Wezner for inviting me to be this week's guest writer. It was a lot of fun to participate.

Every points to Maggs or Thames getting trade
If the Tigers cannot sign a good ss and closer than the only solution is to trade Maggs. Beside ,Tigers also have too many outfielders ( Raburn, Thames, maybe Joyce, Thomas (if healthy), even Clevlen and Guzman (great speed) could be thrown in. Tigers have a real logjam, players like Ramerez should be playing AAA not AA and a guy like Scram (left handed bat and some speed) needs to move up. To make things worst now there moving Guillen to LF. To me it is totally mindboggling to put Inge back at 3B because you just created a hole at catcher. In 2010/2011 you might have a great platoon of Skelton/Ryan. What type or how good of a catcher are you going to get when all you going to do is offer a one year deal? Your guarantee is the catcher will not hit. Tigers are also getting into a logjam in middle infielders too next year with Rymes, Sizemore, Holliman, Worth and Iorg, they all cannot play 2b and ss and therefore one of them will slide over to 3B. But I forgot we have Inge there.
The solution to this mess is easy, Gullien goes back to 3B and Inge goes back to catching for one more year, sign an upper tier ss (Furcal)and top reliever that does not cost you a draft pick ( pitcher from Japan). You sign Furcal because our middle infielders prospects do not have star written over them or have the potential of Furcal. If Wood can still throw, then I would give up a pick for him. Wood is one of the best pitchers in the game when healthy.
