Game 18: Not Quite Enough
The Gist: Jeremy Bonderman gave up just enough runs and the Tigers couldn't capitalize on the few opportunities they had against Dustin McGowan and lost Saturday afternoon 3-2. In five innings of work, Bonderman allowed five hits, six walks (two intentional) and three runs (two earned). Pudge Rodriguez had a three-for-three day with an RBI, and Carlos Guillen continued his torrid pace: three for four to raise his average to .379 -- good for second in the American League behind Baltimore's Luke Scott (.386).
The Quote: "I'm not going to lie. I didn't have much." -- Bonderman, after the game.
The Stat: 191. The number of times the Tigers have lost to the Blue Jays since Toronto entered the American League in 1977. The Tigers have won 161 times.
