Trip to Detroit

Next month I'm traveling out to Detroit from California.  Was born in Detroit but raised in Cali. My Dad had moved back there a couple years ago. So when I go out there for his bday next month, I want to take him to a Tigers game.

It will be my first time making it to the new stadium. So I'm looking for any tips or suggestions on anything. Is it best to just get the tickets from their site or any other suggestions.

I've decided I want to get to the May 23rd game. It's the day after his bday and Polish-Amercian day. So being Polish thought that would be the best to take my dad to.

How's the parking? How hard is it getting to the stadium with traffic? recommended time to deal with that? Anything anyone can think of that would help me with anything?
