¡Miguel Tremendo! Tigers 10, Athletics 2

¡Fiesta Tigres! indeed. Or should that be Home! Run! Derby! Whatever energy the Tigers forgot to bring to the ballpark last night was trucked over in mass quantities tonight. And maybe it exploded after having to sit idle during a one-hour rain delay. But somebody opened up a can of whup-A's and rubbed it all over the Detroit bats.
Miguel Cabrera was the big swinger, blasting home runs to both right and left field and provided enough offense on a night when Armando Galarraga really didn't have his best stuff (something mentioned by both Brandon Inge and Jim Leyland in post-game interviews). But additional home runs from popular punching bags Gary Sheffield and Edgar Renteria were very much appreciated.
Oakland will start one more left-hander in tomorrow's rubber game. Will Greg Smith somehow keep those Detroit bats subdued, like Dallas Braden did on Friday? Or will he be steamrolled by a run parade, as Dan Meyer was tonight? With the Tigers these days, I suppose one never knows.
Roll Call
Apologies for forgetting this in last night's recap. I just had to get it over with as soon as possible.
Thanks to pfuhrmeister, spotstarters, rook34, ashmark, MSU4LIF, Wingz, densogirl, Rogo, dettigionswings'stons, kr41, and MI-FANinTX for spending part of their S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y night in the GameThread. We'll see you there tomorrow!

Nice win...
blah, blah, blah… lets see if the same offensive juggernaut shows up this afternoon or any point after.
Just wanted to make mention, not that i get a thrill out of peoples plight, but did anyone see Frank Thomas’s homer last night in the first inning just square up on the top of some guys head out there in left center.. I taped the game, and must of rewound it thirteen times… completely nailed a gentleman in a hat right in the top of the dome on a fly… there’s a little girl who covers her mouth in the crowd , like “oh crap!” not gonna lie… kinda made me laugh.
