Game Over, Man: Blue Jays 4, Tigers 3
I probably could've posted this weeks ago, but this is what was going through my mind when Vernon Wells hit a bomb over the left field fence for a grand slam. This clip just seems to capture the season so well. (Pardon the blood and swearing. Not safe for work, I suppose, if that's when you're watching this.)
Oh, sure - the Tigers actually made things interesting in the bottom of the ninth on a two-out, two-run double by Edgar Renteria. But did you even stick around to see that after Kenny Rogers served up that grand slam? And that's not even mentioning the 49-minute rain delay, which just seemed cruel. At least the stoppage didn't go late into the night with a matinee tomorrow afternoon.
Ultimately, however, the ninth-inning comeback just added some pain to what was going to be a numbing evening. Twist of the knife, as Longview said in tonight's GameThread.

I’m glad you didn’t sit out that rain delay, at least.
