BYOBYB: Off-Day Open Thread/Therapy

Has it really been more than two weeks since the Tigers got a day off in the schedule? Mercy. Everyone needs a break after the bazooka launch Nate Robertson conducted last night in Arlington.
But as we usually like to do on off-days, we open it up to you. If you want to rant and complain about the men wearing the Olde English D, or those in charge of assembling and coaching this collection of players, have at it. Or maybe you need a mental break and want to go off-topic. This is the place for you.
Just to get things started, here are a few topics:
- What happened to Carlos Guillen's power? (10 home runs in 408 at-bats)
- Do you think Jeremy Bonderman's teammates envy him getting a head start on fishing and drinking?
- How did the Texas Rangers let Armando Galarraga go? Randy Galloway tells the story in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
- If you get a chance, check out The Baseball Early Bird, a new, daily newsletter brought to you by the people behind Baseball-Reference.com. The big reason I want to bring it up is because the Thursday edition is written by our good friend Mike McClary.
Stretch out and share what's on your mind. This is the BYB support group. We're listening. As always, just be nice to each other.

It really says a lot about this team
That noone has commented on the off day. Would tigers fans rather not think about their team when they don’t have to?

That dog reminds me
of my dog “Paw” who died 2 weeks ago. But it’s OK. That dog looks so happy. He or she has unconditional love for our sorry Tigers no matter what! Sigh…………..

In terms of saying a lot about this team...
We all need a day off. We are 2-1 this week, on the road, in a tough place to play, and I am still disgusted.
That tells you how the year has gone.

Armando
Ian: Interesting question about Armando. My initial reaction was ‘Two words; Jair Jurjinns’, but i guess it’s not the same. we were pretty sure that Jair was going to be a decent major league pitcher some day (though perhaps not as quickly as it turned out to be), and i think Texas had pretty much given up on AG, so it’s not quite the same thing. And at least we sorta got something for JJ (insert Edgar joke here). It’s possible that TX fans are even more pissed off about AG than we are about JJ!! Who’da thunk it?

I like the Jurrjens comparison
Because for all the belly-aching about giving Jurrjens up for an underperforming Edgar Renteria, hasn’t Galarraga basically made up for (or exceeded) whatever production they would’ve received from Jurrjens?
“But what if they had both Jurrjens and Galarraga?” you might ask. Well, maybe Dombrowski doesn’t make that deal with Texas if Jurrjens is still in the organization. Or maybe he doesn’t get the call-up to Detroit as soon as he did. The Tigers might not have realized what they had.
