4 p.m. Tuesday For a Tigers-Twins Playoff?

If the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins end up having to play a one-game tiebreaker for the AL Central championship, the game will likely be played Tuesday at 4 p.m.  (No word if that's Eastern or Central time.)  John Lowe of the Detroit Free Press reported this development on Friday evening.

As we already knew, a Monday one-game playoff wasn't going to happen at the Metrodome because of a Vikings football game scheduled for that night.  To switch the field from baseball to football, a game would likely need to be played beginning at 11 a.m., and MLB wasn't keen on that at all.  So with Game 1 of the divisional series versus the Yankees scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday, Tuesday was open.

The Twins get to host the game at the Metrodome by virtue of winning the season series with the Tigers, 11-7.

UPDATE: Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the Twins have been notified that a tiebreaker will be on Tuesday at either 4 or 5 p.m. EST.

Crap

Hopefully the Tigers’ll just win tonight and tomorrow and make this whole thing moot, but a 4:00 start would kill me because that’s when I work and I don’t get off work until 9:00.

Well KC showed some offense and comeback ability yesterday...

With Greinke pitching today, they should get a win.

i went back to sleep and i just woke up again

still feel like crap, but manageable. meh.

personally I don’t really care what time the game is since I can usually watch from work – but we seem to suck pretty bad during the day, lately.

Hopefully Greinke can win today and the Tigers can pull out a win and we won’t have to worry about this.

the way we have looked the past two games...

I am amazed that a playoff is even a possibility. Seriously, this team seems to come up with wins when they have to. Hopefully they have two more in them. Zack is tough, but that is by no means an automatic Twins loss.

I don't want to rely on KC at all

Let’s just go out there and handle our own business.
