Game 161 Overflow Thread #2
Doctor? The patient might have a pulse. (If Miguel Cabrera didn't just pull the plug with that double-play groundout.)

almost at the end of the season, anyway
Not much baseball left. Even if it’s bad, still not much time before the offseason.
Stop kidding yourself, fool. The glass is half empty.
that is so sad!
At least we hit the essentials – radioactive aardvarks, Jesus Zoidberg, the glowing tiger.
Stop kidding yourself, fool. The glass is half empty.
Agreed
That is one thing I really love about the Tigers board, those crazy fucking pictures after wins.

I never thought
I would have to count on the Lions to salvage the weekend
Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider!
Hopefully we won't need it (or maybe we should hope for it)
but if we have to play a playoff game with Minny, would it be Monday or Tuesday and at what time?
Tuesday
4 Central

how can there be a playoff game?
Well, here’s how. The baseball gods somehow allow us to win tomorrow. Then, to further punish us for whatever horrible misdeed we’ve done to deserve this bullshit, they send us back to that hellhole in minneapolis to meet our demise.

I'm not going to stop drinking until the Tigers win a game.
At this point, I’m likely going to die because that won’t be until next April.
woa i did not think that would be that big
so sorry
Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider!
That's okay
I did the same thing with a picture of Lawrence Welk earlier. Ian’s already scolded me for it.

That is the third hit that Rios has just kinda dumped into right field
http://tigersamateuranalysis.blogspot.com
at least his dumps are in the field
the tigers are all in their pants

I'm done...
There’s no way Twins are losing AND we’re winning tomorrow… This is for sure going to a playoff .
Knew fernando couldnt resist giving that run back
Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider!
no
have to wait till tuesday for that…confident JV will get the job done tomrw..
I've done a lot of research on this.
And I have found that no matter who is pitching, you generally don’t win many games when you score zero runs.
which pitcher you start
doesnt matter when your offense is this pathetic
given the army of baserunners the sox have had..
Its a miracle the game isn’t 14-1.

lmao what the hell is this epic music for
they should be playing some funeral procession tunes or something
Oh dear god!
Too soon!!

he looks startled
As though he just realized he was holding an alligator and isn’t sure how that happened.
Stop kidding yourself, fool. The glass is half empty.
So I turned off the TV because I was so pissed... then turned it back on and found out we only gave up 1 run...
Really? Chicago is stranding a lot…

they were college kids, he's a rookie
It fits. And the Twins play the part of the Soviets.

Well, every time we've had our backs to the wall, we've stepped up
We’ll have to do it one more time

Look what that did for us

I hope Ian makes a thread that we can all go in and curse at continuously
Until we are satisfied.
Should last until January or so.
Goodnight, everyone.
Here’s hoping for better luck tomorrow – and on Tuesday.
Stop kidding yourself, fool. The glass is half empty.
See you tomorrow!
I’m walkin’ down that long, lonesome road, babe
Where I’m bound, I can’t tell
But goodbye’s too good a word, gal
So I’ll just say fare thee well
I ain’t sayin’ you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don’t mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don’t think twice, it’s all right
"Without deviation from the norm, 'progress' is not possible."
well ...
I can’t think of a pitcher I would rather have going.
Unfortunately, I can think of numerous offenses I would rather have, too.
Stop kidding yourself, fool. The glass is half empty.
I'm sure the White Sox can't think of a pitcher THEY'D rather have going than Danks

Ha, Mario calling the Tigers offense too good to be slumping
You’re a silly goose.
Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider!
two options
1. The offense is good, but slumping.
2. The offense is bad.
Stop kidding yourself, fool. The glass is half empty.
as if the days events werent bad enough
I now have to watch people dance the hustle. Fuck.

if you guys want
I can post some pix of JV I took in the recap/shame thread… to get ready for tomorrow
just trying to cheer us up :(
and I always like Verlander :)
He has taken over top spot from Inge. But I’ve always had a soft spot for for pitchers above all other positions.
Stop kidding yourself, fool. The glass is half empty.
I will always like Inge, but he's just slightly in second
I still got carpal tunnel voting for him, though. :)
Stop kidding yourself, fool. The glass is half empty.
Maybe in a weird twist of fate
The Lions upset the Bears in a 42-0 rout, the Twins lose on lost ball in the Metrodome roof, and the Tigers bust out for a 20-4 win.
Eh who am I kidding
Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider!
I think the Lions have a good chance against the Bears...
It’s not like they have been playing spectacular either…
In all honesty, I’d bet more money on the Lions winning than the Twins losing.
I'd take the Lions not winning another game for five years if it meant the Tigers win the Central this year
I’d make that deal without question. Then again, I’m not a Lions fan.

I would, too
But even if you were a Lions fan, it isn’t as though it would be that different from the recent seasons. :D
Stop kidding yourself, fool. The glass is half empty.
Poor Lions
On the other hand, if you have to lose horribly, you might as well make it an epic loss.
It’s sort of like when you go see a bad movie. If it’s just bad, you don’t enjoy it. But if the movie is so bad that it’s funny, then you enjoy it.

I think I would move away
so I could no longer follow Detroit sports closely if that were to happen
Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider!
it wouldn't be so wierd
if the Tigers won a game when Verlander pitched and the Twins, who have won less than 2/3rd’s of their home games, only win 2 of 3 against the Royals. The Tigers are clinching tomorrow …
