"That’s the Metrodome. You think you’ve killed it, but no, it will not die. It will keep coming back, again and again, shoving itself into the limelight like a frustrated chorus girl. The last game in the Metrodome was supposed to be Sunday. The touching eulogies were written — yes, even the villains get touching eulogies. But the old barn had one more glorious day — deafening noise, twirling hankies, a big home victory. Now, today, we get a one-game playoff — Twins vs. Tigers — and once again it could be the last day of baggie baseball. But don’t bet on it. The creepy music plays. The phone lines have been disconnected. The Metrodome is looking like it might stick around for a while."

It just won't die!!!!
It’s like those horror movies that needlessly go to Part 8 or Part 9 and they keep trying to find ways to bring the monster/psycho killer back to life.
Idea
Quick, go grab some holy water, a wooden stake and some silver bullets and meet me in Minnesota.

why the hell did they decide on a 5:07 start time?
and does TBS have good announcers?
My Music: Some Sorta Giant
When I watched the ALCS last year, the announcers were Chip Caray and Buck Martinez
They seemed to get excited about whoever was in the lead, or, more specifically, who seemingly had the momentum at any given time.
TBS also had Curtis Granderson in the studio along with Cal Ripken and Dennis Eckersley. Curtis did a good job, but I’d rather see him manning center field in the postseason :-)

Speaking of Curtis...
He has his lastest blog post up.

oma
I just read that, and it almost made me cry. Cannot cry. Kids coming soon. Save the tears for a celebration later!
My guess
1) They weren’t going to play a night game, with the winner having to go play in New York tomorrow.
2) Playing in the early evening allows for the best possible audience, otherwise.

7:11 would make sense for sponshorship possibilities :)
But 5:07 is just stupid. Maybe they need to jam in one more commercial.

I'd certainly take 7:11 over 5:07
If that were the case, I’d at least be able to watch the end of the game.

Lineup
1. Curtis Granderson, CF
2. Placido Polanco, 2B
3. Magglio Ordonez, RF
4. Miguel Cabrera, 1B
5. Carlos Guillen, DH
6. Ryan Raburn, LF
7. Brandon Inge, 3B
8. Gerald Laird, C
9. Ramon Santiago, SS
Well, at least now I know the lineup before I go to work
I had a dream last night that Nate Robertson was starting this game, and there was some sort of significant omission/replacement in the batting lineup, but I can’t remember what it was.

It would have been nice to see Thames in there.
He has great numbers against Baker. Raburn is only 1-for-9, but I guess Leyland wants to go with the “hot hand”.
In this situation, you want Laird's glove (or, more precisely, his arm) because the Twins will try to run
Plus, Baker’s splits this year actually favors right-handers over lefties.

I thought Raburn and Baker had never faced each other
At least, that’s what Baseball-Reference told me. In any case, Thames HAS been our best pinch-hitter (.500 as a PH, last I checked), so there is that, at least.

can’t find a listing for Raburn vs. Baker either in ESPN.com’s data.

I posted this in the miggy thread, but in case it gets missed
postseason.tv will be broadcasting from BP at 2:45 EST. not sure why, or what they will be doing, but that should be cool.
So, I'm watching the Twins take BP, and I don't recognize most of them
Is it just because the camera is far away, or am I just not familiar enough with the Twins?
