"My personal feeling is that Detroit is not going to trade Curtis Granderson. He’s like (Cleveland’s) Grady Sizemore. They don’t come along very often and Detroit is blessed to have him.

"If you let a guy like that go, you have to have a replacement, and the Tigers don’t have that player in their system at the higher minor league levels.

"And then, you have to look if it’s being done because the club is financially strapped like Minnesota was when Torii Hunter (left as free agent) and Johan Santana (traded) moved on. Go ahead and look at Granderson’s contract and tell me it’s a problem."
