The BYB Holiday Meet-Up: December 26

With the Winter Meetings last week, there wasn't much chance to talk about the BYB Holiday Meet-Up. (Plus, the original FanPost got shuffled off the front page.) But it's happening, and if you're going to be in the southeastern Michigan area around Christmas, hopefully you can join us.
The Meet-Up is scheduled for Saturday, December 26 at 1 p.m. We'll be meeting at Mexican Village in Detroit. (Here's the Google Maps information, courtesy of DetroitChik.)
Other plans might include heading over to Comerica Park for some photos, or perhaps the State Bar, across from the ballpark.
If you're planning on attending, it would probably help to leave a comment with this post. Or e-mail me. Same goes for if you have any questions. I might not have answers for you, but DetroitChik or NCDee might be able to help you. (If your question concerns what kind of food the restaurant serves, I suggest you refer to the name of the restaurant.)

I’ll be in southeastern Michigan at the time, probably. The harder part might be getting away from the family…but I’d love to come and put a few faces to nicknames….

so far I work on the 26th. To bad. Someone will have to take pics and post them here or at least send me an email with the pics of the festivities.

I just had this thought...
and maybe I’m just missing something because theres again a chance I can come…but how will we recognize eachother? Meeting at the restaurant doesn’t exactly say “BYB meet here!” Should there be some sort of special gathering location? Front of the restaurant maybe with someone holding a big sign saying something?
Really I just want to make sure that everybody who goes doesn’t have to go through some confusing ordeal.

I have several shirts. I am sure you have a hat, poopz. If we all have on something like that, it might work.

I found my "Throw Strikes" shirt
so I’ll be sporting that. And a possible head count would be nice, since we can get an appropriate table that way. We can wait for a bit and see who shows up before we sit down. Perhaps there is a bar area………

there is a bar area. When you go in there will a long hallway that leads to the main seating and to the right of the hostess stand there is a small vestibule/hall area go through there and there is a bar with seating too. I will try to get there about 12:45 pm. I will be in my batting T – says Detroit – gray with blue sleeves. See you then.

Work and uncertain weather mean that I’ll probably be travelling on Saturday, rather than the Thursday I was originally intending.

It was really nice to meet everyone today.
we were only five, but it was fun. Me and Dee, Ian, Packey and Matt. You guys are all such nice people. I like when things like that happen. And I am fairly certain the waiter made out like a bandit.

We were small, but mighty. (Especially with our tipping.) It was a nice way to spend an afternoon. and I hope we can do something similar again soon.
It was fun to meet NCDee, DChik, Packey, and Matt Watson (check out Detroit Bad Boys!), and chat. Thanks to the ladies for putting this get-together… together.
