Jon Matlack, the Detroit Tigers' minor league pitching coordinator told the Freep's Jon Paul Morosi that he didn't think top prospect Rick Porcello was ready to pitch in the majors, despite speculation to that effect.

"I think Rick is going to be a really good big-league pitcher," he added, "but I think we'd be taking a risk if we ask him to make that happen before he's ready."
