Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

"The best kind of season to follow is a mystery. The worst kind, as the Tigers reminded us last year, can be the one in which a team is expected to go to the World Series, or at least challenge the 1,000-run mark. That subtracts the romance and the unknown from a season and makes it an all-or-nothing proposition."

Excellent point from a guy who has been following baseball and the Tigers for a long time.

This season really is a mystery. Tons of ifs. I can honestly see the Tigers finishing anywhere from first to last. If the pitching stays healthy and comes through, there is no reason Detroit can’t win the division.

Exactly right.

There is not one team in the Central who scares me. It’s up for grabs.

I agree with that. My inflated expectations last year left me disappointed after every Tigers game last year (well, after 88 games). It’ll be way more fun this year now that I’ve been brought back down to earth and will just enjoy the games for what they are. Hoping we push for a division crown, but wouldn’t be disappointed this year if we don’t.
