Phrases that have got to get got

I think I remember the FJM guys doing a double-take on a similar quote from another baseball guy. They had apparently heard “dirt dog” before but never dirtball. I guess it’s caught on. Now Rod will probably start using it ad nauseam. He will explain what a reverent title it is when used in the locker room. Great.

Every season seems to have one of these en vogue phrases that the “true baseball guys” pride themselves on using. All the better if it turns conventional usage of the phrase among non-baseball-guys on its head! This one seems especially annoying.
