SI: Juan Cruz to the Royals
Righthanded reliever Juan Cruz signed a two-year, $6 million deal with the Royals, the club announced. There's also a team option in Year 3 for $4.5 million, with a $500,000 buyout.

This will burn you Ian
Per MLBTradeRumors:
“In the end, no sign-and-trade solution was necessary. The Royals preferred to lose their second rounder rather than give up prospects to the Diamondbacks. The team’s first-round pick is protected because it finished with one of the 15 worst records in the majors last season.”
So, seeing as the Tigers finished behind the Royals I am assuming the same deal applies. Which means the Tigers would’ve been giving up a second rounder, not a first rounder, to get Juan Cruz.

I just needed to cry in the bathtub with the shower running over me for about 24 hours.
