Polanco's Hand Appears to be Fine
I know there was some concern about Placido Polanco being taken out of last night's game after getting hit by a pitch on his hand. But it looks like he's okay.
Jason Beck reports via Twitter that Polanco was taking some ground balls from Jim Leyland this morning, and appeared to be doing fine. Rest easy, Tiger Town.

Not only did he take ground balls, but he’s in today’s match-up against the Nats.
Speaking of which, has Nate Robertson actually turned a corner? Could he still fight it out for that last rotation spot? His line against the Nats today: 4 IP, 0 R, 5 K, 2 H, 1 BB. Not only is that Nate’s best outing so far, it may be one of the best outings by a Tigers starting pitcher this spring (of course, he was basically playing a AAA team). If the Tigers are still keen to send Porcello to AA, and if Nate has a couple more good outings (he did well his last time out, too), he may just give Leyland and DD the excuse they’ve been looking for.
And I think...
That’s all they’re really looking for: an excuse to send Nate out there. By that, all he needs to do is have good looking lines where they can say, “hey the numbers are there.” That way they dont have to eat his contract and give Porcello more minor league experience. Meanwhile, they would be sending a pitcher out there who has a history as being a durable Tigers’ starter. Sure fans haven’t enjoyed watching him be one of our starters in the past year and a half, but he has proven in the past that he can give us innings and quality starts. I feel like this was Nate’s job all along, all he had to do was go out and have ‘pretty good’ to maybe even just ‘decent’ outings where he wouldn’t lose it. Unfortunately, he started losing it with his early outings. I think he’s starting to put the grasp on it again recently.
