My All-Time Tigers Team
Also part of the 30 clubs in 30 days, the guys talked about the All Time Tigers' team and it got me thinking "what is my all time Tigers team?". Keep in mind, these are my choices from guys that I've seen play, so there's not going to be any black and white tv guys or no jersey number guys from the old school before batting helmets. I'm not that old and no offense to the old guys, comparing the old guys to the new guys isn't fair to anyone.
1. Tony Phillips; CF
2. Lou Whitaker; 2B
3. Miguel Cabrera; 1B
4. Cecil Fielder; DH
5. Kirk Gibson; LF (he did play LF before going to LA)
6. Magglio Ordonez; RF
7. Travis Fryman; 3B
8. Alan Trammell; SS
9. Mickey Tettleton; C
RF: Rob Deer
C: Lance Parrish
1B: Tony Clark
3B: Tom Brookens
LF: Larry Herndon
UTIL: Brandon Inge (even if it means a .200 BA because he's catching sometime)
SP: Jack Morris
SP: Justin Verlander
SP: Frank Tanana
SP: Bill Gullickson
SP: Dan Petry
RP: Aurelio Lopez
RP: Willie Hernandez
RP: Mike Henneman
CP: Todd Jones
Biggest Draft Bust: RP: Matt Anderson (Vernon Wells, Lance Berkman, Michael Cuddyer, Jon Garland, Jayson Werth and JD Drew picked after him just in the 1st round).
How many games does this team win? Are we looking at a World Series title with this team?

Im guessing you are young...and you forgot about ...
Kinda obvious u are a youngster..but still what about these recent Tigers
CF - C.Granderson- P.Polanco
2B
C— I.Rodriguez
SS- C.Guillen
CF— C.Lemon
C.— M.Nokes
1B - D.Evans M.Wilcox
P
P- D.Brocial
these are just guys from 1986-today you forgot about…..
PLZ take Inge and T.Jones off the list they are JOKES
T.Jones MOST blown saves MLB history (highest era with 50 + career saves-MLB History)
B.Inge 1 time in his 7 yr career had 3 hits in a game ( thats SAD)
PS Lance Parrish was 100 times better than M.Tettelton

I understand where you're coming from
I think Tettleton starts in my lineup because of his switch hitting ability. Plus he had good years in Detroit AND Baltimore. Being from the DC area, I saw a lot of Tettleton.
I left Evans off at 1B because Cabrera puts up similar numbers, with a much higher BA.
Matt Nokes had one season.
I’m not going to put Guillen over Trammell and I’m not putting Pudge over Tettleton or Parrish.
I almost put Cuyler in there as a base stealing threat, but the Tigers have never really had a base stealin threat since I’ve been watching them… Roger Cedeno is one that comes to mind

All Time Favorites
I guess the older you are the more players you think should also show. A few of my choices would be: George Kell 3b, Harvey Kuehn ss, Frank Bolling 2b, Bill Freehan c or Lance Parish, Frank House along with Charlie Maxwell and Ray Boone. Pitchers, Frank Lary, Jim Bunning, Billy Hoeft. To make a long story short my teams would have most of their players from the mid 50’s to mid 60’s.

Any one whose a really true Tiger fan knows about Al Kaline. He never played in the minors. Won a batting title at the age of twenty. Was the best right fielder ever to put on a tiger uniform.

“Any one whose a really true Tiger fan knows about Al Kaline. He never played in the minors. Won a batting title at the age of twenty. Was the best right fielder ever to put on a tiger uniform.” i agree wholeheartedly with this but i would add probably the best ever at that position
