Spring Game Thread: Tigers at Mets
Nate Robertson vs.
Oliver Perez, 1:10 p.m. EST
With this afternoon's Grapefruit League game between the Mets and Tigers being televised on MLB Network, we're opening up the doors for another Spring Game Thread.
Can Nate Robertson continue his recent streak of quality pitching (seven scoreless innings in his last two appearances), a performance that just may have salvaged a job for him in Detroit's starting rotation?
Among the pitchers scheduled to go for the Mets are Oliver Perez, Bobby Parnell, and Carlos Muniz.
If you don't have MLB Network, or don't find yourself by a television this afternoon, today's broadcast will be available on MLB.TV and Gameday Audio. No local radio broadcast, however.

OK I subscribe to this service…do you know something that i don’t and you can get the game, I would love to listen at work.
There is no radio for today’s game, so you get to miss out. It’s on MLB Network only.

Screw ATT UVerse
I have ATT UVerse and for some reason they do not caryy mlb network. Its bad enough i had to miss out on Team USA 3 run come back win, but now i cant see my tigers. this sucks. The worst part is i am a sales rep for att uverse lol. Maybe its time to dust off the old ressume
Honestly, most of the baseball-watching public doesn’t care for MLB Network from what I’ve seen. The diehards (aka those of us in this thread) like it but by-and-large, missing it doesn’t mean they’re going to miss their favorite team. The strategy behind MLB Network isn’t the same as NFL Network, there’s no real threat to the viewer of losing their favorite team at just the wrong time.

a reminder why spring stats don't matter
What can you read into Perez’s start when Adam Everett is the leadoff batters for the Tigers? Or the rest of that lineup for that matter. How often do Tigers face teams who bring the equivalency to Lakeland?
Oh lookee, Everett is hurt. Lovely.
Only following the thread.
What happened to Everett?
injuries
Everett messed up his ankle (apparently) sliding into second taking it on a bloop to the outfield that got lost in the sun. He looked in some pain but seemed to be walking it off. I suspect he’s day-to-day but may be a bit stiff, just from the video.
Nate took a ball off his hand trying to receive the second half of a double play at first base. The throw was a bit off line and you couldn’t tell it happened at first. But apparently it missed his glove, or deflfected off it, and hit his pitching hand. It seemed a bit red. They looked at it then took him out of the game.
we get a nice long look at Miner
now that he’s out of the running. Hopefully we get an update from one of the beat writers on both. Neither seemed like that big a deal of an injury but you don’t really know just by what you see on TV.

I just got home and it’s jsut the start of the 2nd inning? Huh? Am watching on MLB TV. Will try to keep you updated as Sardina just hit a double.. Zach Miner is now up to bat.
ugly
both teams are playing so-so defense, plus some bloop hits, a few hard hits, a couple injury breaks, and a 1:10-15ish actual start.

ATT doesn’t carry MLB Network. It’s on 279 Comcast in southeast MI. 2 on and no outs for the Tigers.

I used to. Can’t get it here where I live. Although, I now hate Direct TV. Just don’t break your 2 year contract and you’ll be happy. I had to break mine and boy oh boy, did I have to pay.
Oh I dont plan on it.....
…..We have Charter and only like 25 HD channels…..They wanted me to drop my HD service and then they could match Directv prices?? I was like what??? Plus we get NFL network!!!! Love it!!!!

if robertson is hurt and willis doesn't wow the rest of spring
it’s probably Porcello’s and that’s fine. you’d like him to be more seasoned, but he’s got better stuff than anyone competing for the job anyway
