1.) Paul Richards was a catcher for the Tigers from 1943-46. He was a sports columnist for the Waxahachie, Texas newspaper.

2.) Four Tigers had 100 or more RBIs in 1934. Hank Greenberg had 134 RBIs. Charlie Gerhringer had 127. Billy Rogell and Goose Goslin each had 100.

3.) The Tigers first night game was played on June 20, 1939 in Phildelphia. They beat the A's, 5-0.
