RIP Mark Fidrych
I'm sad to report that Mark Fidrych has passed away today, at age 54. Apparently he was working on his truck and it may have fallen on him.
The D.A.'s office said Fidrych was found by a family friend underneath a pickup truck at his Northboro home around 2:30 p.m. He appeared to have been working on the truck at the time of the accident.
Details here.
I'm sorry for all the Tiger fans out there.

Sad day
I just heard the report on NBC Nightly News. Here is a link to a Free Press article about the Bird from 2006. He was a great guy. Sad day with him and Harry Kalas (Phillies broadcaster) both passing.

The Bird:
I’m so sorry to hear about this. I’ve been a Tigers fan my whole 45 years of life. He really added some excitement to the 1976 season.

This is so horrible. I can’t believe what’s happening in baseball lately with all these untimely deaths. And how awful to die in an accident and be found under a tractor?
RIP Mr. Fidrych.

RIP Mark
He was a class act all the way. Fame and fortune held it’s place in his life, bearing no more importance than any other every day occurrence. On a higher plane for him was family and friends. That is the measure of a man. Heaven is a happier place right now.
