Pick BYB's Official Miguel Cabrera Nickname

Okay, this is long overdue, but I finally went through The Official Miguel Cabrera Nickname Thread, and whittled the suggestions down to a list of 15 candidates.  If your suggestion isn't listed, I apologize, but I tried to go with the ones that got some support within the thread.  Nothing personal, but the list had to be cut off at some point.

If the final choice does end up being "Miggy" or "Cabby," I will gracefully accept defeat, acknowledge that perhaps this movement shouldn't have been started in the first place, and bow to the wisdom of Mario and Rod

Thank you to everyone who participated.  I think we had some fun with this.  (Others might disagree.)

common people...

it’s gotta be Big Cat. It’s short, rolls off the tongue, and has staying power if enough people start to call him that. The Tigers can have Mark “The Bird” Fidrych and now Miguel “Big Cat” Cabrera.

whoops...

I meant “come on” people, not “common people.” I didn’t mean to make it sound like was addressing a group off peons.

you’re such an elitist…

+1

I really like the big cat name. I think it is perfect. I never thought I would say this but I am actually starting to get used to cabby and I am starting to like it.

The Big Cat...

has been used already by former slugger Andres Galarragga.

Thats OK.

I don’t really see anything wrong with using another persons nickname. That was a long time ago too. There are so many out there that it is about impossible to get a good unique nickname. I understand what you are saying though eat ’em.

I like the big puma but I know that is taken already as well too

This was fun

But some people are just too conservative :P

EL MARTILLO

…is being crushed by “Miggy”.

Sigh.

c’mon people, think outside the box! El Martillo is the way to go.

If my choice isn't going to win, I'll throw my hat behind El Martillo

But I still think MC Hammer would be great.

But I have to agree with explosivo and JP, Miggy just doesn’t have the umph. Miggy is for a little guy, not the big power hitter. The hammer, now that is a power hitter name.

Yes ("Hammer" anyone???)

I know that I supported it in the original thread, but I don’t see why Hammer isn’t up there. That one is cool, and as far as I know, pretty original. It’s better than the Hebrew Hammer (Ryan Braun) which, if you notice, is a nickname. Also, it references Hank Aaron, one of the greatest.

Anyone else like Hammer (or MC Hammer, I guess) as much as I do?

If it can't be El Caballo Grande ( the big horse)

then I’ll go with Miggy

On Sunday I heard Rod refer to him as the “Big Cat” …
