Treanor done for season (via Jason Beck)
Looks like Sardinha will be the backup going forward, according to Jason Beck (MLB.com's Tigers beat writer) via Twitter. Treanor had surgery to remove a bone spur from his hip, which the Tigers expect to end his season.
The Tigers aren't losing much here, honestly. Treanor couldn't hit and neither can Sardinha. Sardinha does have the advantage of knowing most of the pitching staff already.
