The Recuperating Tigers Trio
We've heard how Jeremy Bonderman is doing as he prepares to return to Detroit's major league roster, but what about the other Tigers currently on the disabled list? Matt Treanor is likely out for the rest of the season, but three others look to be recovering nicely.
- Carlos Guillen is eligible to come off the DL today, but isn't ready to rejoin the team. Jason Beck reported on Saturday that Guillen was just beginning to swing a bat again. But in today's Detroit News, he mentioned that his injured shoulder is still holding him back.
- Nate Robertson's DL stint ends tomorrow, and he says his back is feeling much better, so he could be activated. As recently as this past weekend, Robertson was still experiencing back spasms and stiffness, but team trainers adjusted his anti-inflammatory meds, and that apparently made a difference.
- Marcus Thames has made progress with his rib strain, and will soon take batting practice. If that goes well, a rehab assignment wouldn't be far off.

So, say the most unlikely thing happens..
and Galaraga turns it back around. And Bonderman comes back in 2006 form. And Dontrelle really is back to 2005 form.
What do we do with our rotation?
I think Porcello.....
…..Would go down in that situation……They really do want to watch his innings this eason….hes never thrown over 130 in a season…..This way he can go down and maybe miss a few starts …….they really do have to be careful with him

I think theres no rush...
to get thames or guillen back on the field. I would rather see our younger players like anderson, thomas, and larish continue to get consistent playing time. I love the versatility they bring to the lineup on a nightly basis and would hate to see them be replaced with seemingly one dimensional players like guillen and thames.
