Carlos Guillen's right shoulder doesn't appear to be getting better, prompting him to have it re-examined. The results of that exam should be revealed today, but it doesn't look like he's coming back anytime soon.

Jim Leyland's take on the situation: "I don't think he's doing too good."

carlos

thats too bad, but untill he is 100% they should not be playing him. sorry its a buisness and we have plenty of capable guys if you ask me. Also while we are on the subject of guys that should not be in the line up…Gallaraga should not pitch more then one more start without getting whatever is wrong fixed..guy has not allowed less then 4 runs in 5 straight starts…

I should probably be more disappointed about this than I am,

but I really like that guys like Anderson, Thomas, and Larish are getting massive amounts of playing time. I don’t wish an injury on anyone, um—make that anyone on our team—but I hope he stays out until he’s completely better, and then he should have to earn his spot back.

HEALTHY Carlos is where it's at

Carlos is a key veteran bat…when he’s healthy. When he is hurting, he is a clear and present liability to the Tigers both at the plate and on the field. Take all the time you need, Carlos. Do it up right.

they'll need him in the second half

well they’ll need a healthy carlos guillen, not the guy who hit. 200 this season.

agreed

We’ll need a 100% (or whatever percent he has been in years past to be successful) Guillen. For the time being, we’re doing a nice job of replacing him, but I fear some of these guys won’t be able to keep up their healthy Guillen-like #s
