No Structural Damage to Carlos Guillen's Shoulder
The MRI exam on Carlos Guillen's injured right shoulder revealed no structural damage. Tigers head trainer Kevin Rand said it's a classic case of "thrower's shoulder," wear and tear that developed from Guillen's years of playing shortstop.
As a result, the team will keep Guillen on his current rehabilitation routine, and hope that builds strength back in the shoulder. It could be a while before he can return to the field, however, as Guillen still can't throw a baseball or take batting practice without feeling pain.
