U-G-L-Y: Cardinals 11, Tigers 2
For now, I think we'll let the Meijer spinach girl sum up tonight's game.

Uuuuch!
We'll post a proper recap (there will be Whimpers) after trying to digest this one and sleep it off. But with the way the Tigers' offense is (or, more appropriately, isn't) hitting, they're not going to win when Justin Verlander gives up five runs in four innings.

Hey
at least our players aren’t as ugly as Chris Duncan. He looks like a 56 year-old truck driver.

Since the beginning of the Baltimore series,
we’ve scored 3.26 runs per game. Uuuch indeed.

It's over
Release Ordonez, Robertson, and Willis. See if you can get something for Polanco, I know the Angels need a 2B. Someone will take him. Time to start thinking about the future. Obviously, the current team isn’t very good. Thanks for getting all our hopes up just to disappoint boys; that’s all you’re ever good for any way.

Seriously...
it’s over? We are in first place, and haven’t been playing that great of late. We are in the most attainable division. I was at that game, and it was ugly, but no need to blow up a winning baseball team. I agree we need to do something about the Robertson/Willis experiments, but its been the clutch hitting that is the problem. We left 9 guys on base tonight. Lets just focus on adding to this team, not subtracting.

I just think they've overachieved
A two man offense and three man rotation is no way to sustain success.

Calm down
This division is very winnable. What you described above sounds like a better team on paper than the Twins have. I agree with nerd, they just need timely hitting. Defense, good pitching, and timely hitting win ball games.
ABC baby, always be closing.

I stepped away
from the TV and the pc for 30 minutes to cook dinner and came back to a 5 – zip lead. I was so distraught I just turned everything off and went to bed. Sad Sad Sad. But my spirits were buoyed when I heard on the news this morning to find out that Dontrelle is officially out of the starting rotation

Ordonez, Polanco
The time to hit is now, we still have a chance to win the division. I know every hitter goes into slumps, they will eventually hit… bla, bla, bla. I dont care if they hit .400 in August and September to finish the season at their career numbers, if we are out of the race by that time. We need to perform NOW.

Trade Maggs to the Yankees
They LOVE overpriced OFs. We can get their backup C in return (Cervelli), a reliever (Coke), and maybe even Brett Gardner to start in the OF.
Prob unrealistic but oh well.

One of the problems is
We don’t have much to work with. Polanco still has some value for a trade and his salary isn’t too atrocious. But, Magglio, good luck trying to trade him. It seem he can’t any more. We’re also stuck with Willis and Robertsons’ salaries even if a team does make a trade or they DFA them. Someone would pick them up for the minimum and we’d pay the rest of their millions. Even though I love Carlos, who wants to see him in LF? Not me.
Now, we gotta think of some solutions.

… has no quality batting on his team and is saddled with too many bad contracts keeping inferior players on the 25-man roster
