Milwaukee Brewers at Detroit Tigers, Jun 21, 2009 1:05 PM EDT

Do the Detroit Tigers dare think about getting out the brooms this afternoon at Comerica Park? And will they keep swinging the sizzling bats that have put 19 runs on the board in the past two games?
Continuing the run parade might not be so easy against Yovani Gallardo, however. He's allowed two or fewer runs in his last five starts, with 35 strikeouts in 31.1 innings. But Gallardo has also issued 20 walks in that span, so if the Tigers are patient at the plate today, he might help them out a bit. In seven starts on the road this season, Gallardo is 4-1 with a 2.89 ERA.
The Tigers might also be grateful for the designated hitter rule today, as it'll keep Gallardo from batting. He has two home runs this year.
Justin Verlander is coming off his shortest start since Opening Day, pitching just four innings while giving up five runs and eight hits. He ended up with a loss for the first time in his last 11 games. Do we blame that on the St. Louis heat? Maybe more pleasant temperatures in Detroit will help his stamina and velocity today. Verlander has been dominant at home this year, posting a 3-0 record and 0.89 ERA in five starts.

I got a solution to fix a tiger...
I would rent a batting cage…and let D.Willis pitch to Maggs. Cuz If Maggs cant hit D. Willis…then we know he has no bat speed left……and if D.Willis cant strike out Maggs …then we know he aint got no Velocity left. Its sorta like throwing two fat chicks up in the air….whichever one falls first….take the other one!

I saw their CEO(i believe, some orbitz big shot) speak at Northern's graduation last year

I think injuries took a toll on Egypt
they seemed on their heels all game too. USA probably benefited from not starting Beasley too. He’s been awful. It was nice to see the USA finally finish some. Coulda been 4-0, too.
No matter what happens Wednesday, it’s just awesome that they’re still playing.

on twitter, Jason Beck said he felt like they’d call up a reliever, so by your figuring French or Fu-Te Ni would be the leading candidates.
I’d put Casey Fien’s, Zach Simons’, and Cody Satterwhite’s names out there for right handed possibilities.

not that I was in here at all for the game....
