Game 71 Overflow Thread
No Rally Mascots required... yet. But it's a close one!
Tigers 4, Cubs 2 going into the seventh inning! (We love it when the other team walks in a bases-loaded run!)

Marcus Thames nickname
One day sitting a Mud Hens game Marcus came up. I saw his initials were MT… The only word in the English language that ends in MT is “dreamt”…. I thought that if he was called up to the Tigers and became really good he could be call the “The Dream”…… Yea, it was a boring game if I recall
Man, that is swimming a long way for a nickname.

Anybody ever read "The Great American Novel" by Phillip Roth?
One of the best baseball books ever. Anyway — there’s a kid on the team who really wants a nickname. Tries all these affectations to get one. They end up calling him “Nickname”
I"ll have to read that
I’m ready a book full of Damon Runyan’s old baseball columns—good stuff
