"Fu-Te Ni is stuck with the team's High School Musical backpack, as he's the reliever with the fewest Major League innings under his belt."

That's dumb...

They should make the pitcher with the most walks carry the bag.

I hit up flickr to see if I could find any pics with no luck but there is tons of evidence of other team’s rookie backpacks..

pretty amusing. I don’t recall seeing anyone carrying the high school musical one last weekend in Houston, though.

yeah the majority seem to be.

I wonder if the HS musical one has zac efron’s face all over it. that would be sweet.

A friend of mine

was college friends with Matt Daley, who now pitches for the Rockes. He and a few friends went to see LA vs. Colorado at Dodger Stadium the other night, and he took a picture of Daley’s sexy warmup bag:

What’s worse, HS Musical or Dora the Explorer?

Typical rookie hazing ploy...

Ni should consider himself lucky. Most other rookie relievers get saddled with Barbie or Disney Princess backpacks. I wonder what they do when there are no rookies on the pitching staff.

Another national reporter who doesn't follow the Tigers

Loberstein, reporting on Robertson’s successful surgery:

if everything goes well, should be back in the Tigers rotation by the end of the regular season.

I doubt that is the Tigers’ plan . . .

wrong guy is wearing it.

Give it to Zumaya until he stops walking people and giving up home runs in key situations.

this was before ni got called up

but if the plan is to humiliate Zoom into better pitching, we’re gonna need more than a backpack. Possibly an entire HSM outfit, which should already be floating around baseball, because they were the Red Sox rookie initiation costumes last year.

holy cats why do I know this

But if it’s for any reason other than that, Sam…!
