Edwin Jackson (6-4, 2.59), 7:05 p.m. EST
After taking two out of three from the AL Central's fourth-place team, the Tigers try to end the unofficial first half of the season with a strong showing against the fifth-place Indians.
Cliff Lee hasn't won in his past four starts for the Tribe. His last two, in particular, didn't look so good, as Lee allowed 10 runs, 19 hits, and five walks in nine total innings. Lee has lost both of his starts against the Tigers this season, but he's given up only four runs in 15 innings. In nine career starts at Comerica Park, he has a 3-2 record and 3.42 ERA.
Since his last start on Saturday, Edwin Jackson was named to the All-Star team for the first time. Inexplicably, he's winless in his past five starts despite giving up three or fewer runs in each of those outings. Actually, it's not hard to understand at all, considering the poor run support Jackson continues to receive from his lineup. Despite striking out a season-high nine batters in six innings against the Twins, he took a no-decision when the bullpen couldn't hold a one-run lead (nor could the Tigers' offense provide an insurance run).
Jackson has faced the Indians one other time this season, shutting them out over seven innings in a 4-0 win at Cleveland. At home this season, he has a 3-1 record and 2.94 ERA in seven starts.

I just noticed you put down Seattle Seahawks as a favorite NFL team. I am dreadfully confused because, since I live in the Northwest, I get Seahawks coverage and wonder why anyone outside of Seattle would root for them, even as a joke!

I wish I played more sports as a kid. The worst that happened to me was at drumline practice, our section leader thought it would be funny to chuck a drum stick towards the practice area, where it promptly rebounded off my snare and into my mouth. Which started to bleed profusely immediately. Funnn times.
Promoting my destruction is an activity I do not approve of.

i’m a section leader in Tech’s pep band, bass drum section. a good leader can make or break a section. also, drumsticks are very effective weapons

the head flew off during a hockey game. thing was, we sit high in the stands above the rink. it bounced off the head of my drum and down into the crowd below us…luckily nobody was hurt, but it was freaking hilarious

I get that same thing when I pitch, I never understand how, but when you throw 100 MPH it probably cuts a little deeper… Doesn’t do much when you only throw 81-83
