Dear ESPN, Please Never Put the Detroit Tigers on Sunday Night Baseball Again. Ever, Ever.
Well, that stunk. I'm ready to start a Facebook group called "Dear ESPN, Please Never Put the Detroit Tigers on Sunday Night Baseball Again. Ever, Ever." Anyone interested in joining?
Did Rick Porcello really just have one bad inning? Or shall we take predictions on whether that may have been the last time we see him in the Tigers' starting rotation for a while? Do you think he'll make his next turn, which would probably be on Friday against Cleveland?
Just remember: The Tigers won three of four this weekend from the White Sox. Despite the bad ending, it was a good weekend.
Proper recap (with COTN) tomorrow, folks. Have a good night, and try to forget about this one before you go to sleep.

Just remember...
since the break, this is the first time the Tigers have played truly putrid all-around baseball, complete with errors, poor starting pitching, AND the usual hit or miss (primarily miss) offense. They were due for a clunker. And it certainly arrived.
Tomorrow night is big. But keep in mind, the Sox get their turn at the House of Horrors in Minneapolis. They are almost as bad there as we are.
And we don’t have to see or listen to Harrelson for a couple of months. The hell with that guy.
well
I wouldn’t say poor starting pitching. What did we have…four 2-1 losses? That’s on the hitters.
I think...
He was just refering to this game as having poor starting pitching.
I commented to rod on twitter about how we miss them
and dislike the ESPN guys.
of course, he said they do a good show. WHATEVS. :)
he knows people are going to be reading that, so he has to say it. I bet he agrees, though

I had the volume off, anticipating the horror.
What were they saying? Usual Detroit Sucks kind of stuff? Or were they building up the Sox?
you nailed it on both counts
I wish I had $5 for each time they said someone on the White Sox was “prolific”. I wanted to puke.

Old=Prolific
Soon, Thome, Dye, Konerko, et al have to be gone.
Quentin, however, we are stuck with for a long, long time.
Quentin
was a poly sci major. much too smart for the SOX. I like him. I wish he was our left fielder. Go ahead strike me down

I’ll take Quentin in left. It would be an improvement… for sure

But how can you rank poli sci over Raburn’s incredible soccer skills? :D

David Beckham better watch out
Ryan Raburn’s going to be the next big soccer star.

truly he will
I mean, if he can handle a small target like a baseball that well, a soccer ball should be a piece of cake.

you know
I really kind of like Ryan. But he has been sub-par as opposed to previous years. We really do need blood in left, right and short. imo

Yeah I like Ryan too
His walk-off was one of my favorite moments from the season.

Our corner outfielders
are the biggest weakness on the team, offensively and defensively. You could say starters 3-4-5, but I think the outfield defense is just as big an issue, and then you combine the scattershot offense, and…yikes.
I know some poeple
like Everett. We picked him up for defense. Sometimes his defense is good but for the most part he’s really kind of sucked out there and his offense is even worse. He bobbles the ball A LOT. I was there the other day when he made that horrific error to Miguel on first, it allowed Ichiro to move up to 2nd and eventually score. It was a routine play, but he couldn’t manage it. I should not have to get so excited when the SS (most important position in the infield) makes a decent play. I’m just saying

too bad his team is full of turds
he could be playing here, for the underdog.

Turds at the following positions:
Manager, General Manager, Catcher, Closer, Catcher, First Base, Catcher, Right Field (only because Dye kills us so, he’s not a turd per se).
And Catcher.
I'm sensing a bit of antipathy for A.J. Douchezinski

The Sox are prolific scorers and their starting pitcher was tremendous. And Porcello has a lot of talent but needs to learn how to actually pitch (this is actually correct). This makes Detroit’s entire starting rotation shaky and doubtful for the rest of the year.
Then they got bored and their attention wandered to jai alai, Mark Buerhle’s perfect game a few days ago (before the Sox lost three games to Detroit), and the Angles. And I think the Red Sox. And Jon Miller thinks that Ernie Harwell came up with the term “Michiganders.”

And don’t forget the upcoming game with the cards and phillies. That’s going to be great baseball. We are fortunate that we have not been booted out of the MLB because we play such bad baseball

And yesterday
on FOX they said we would never make it to the post season because of Jackson.

while ESPN, on the other hand
Figures that beyond Verlander and Jackson the starting rotation is apparently so crappy that I could do better.

forgot that
Just for those comments, I hope each team commits four errors and the pitching is wild and shaky all over the place. :)

Angels
Although it might have been angles, too. My attention wandered to odd stuff about bacon and pictures of puppies. I found out that there exists a recipe for a dish called “bacon explosion,” for example. :)

and to think
That some people I know don’t think that women should be in combat situations in the military because they don’t think they have a killer instinct.
I think they are just nervous at how vicious women can be when they want to. (Or maybe they are just scared of me having access to cruise missles.)

As I wanted to be a pilot until I needed glasses in the third grade. :(

If we had a fighter jet tonight
I feel the booth would have been destroyed and Mario and Rod would have no where to sit upon there return.

I would join that facebook group.
And I think Leyland trusts Porcello more than to just pull him from the rotation after today. I think we’ll see him Friday.
Bottom line: we won 3 of 4 and we’re in first by 2 games. That’s all that really matters.

Loss to CWS tonight
I will be OK, but it hurt to lose after winning 3 games in a row from Chicago. I am selfish, wanted that 4th win. But it will be OK and I will sleep tonight. ……..love ‘Bless You Boys’….thank you.
I take 3 of 4 and feel fine
but my if tonight didn’t suck.

I have no other way to watch the games unless they are on ESPN or similar
I can’t afford the package on Direct Tv that included Fox Sport Detroit (it’s over 100 bucks a month) so I have the lower packaging that includes Espn etc. So as much as I feel your pain, at least I got to watch a game tonight. And I listened on the radio to get the local feed.
