Carlos Guillen Ready to Take Batting Practice?
Jim Leyland told the Freep's John Lowe that Carlos Guillen is scheduled to begin taking batting practice with the TIgers today.
This isn't an indication that Guillen is getting ready to return to the team, however. He'll need a minor league rehab assignment because of all the time he's missed, according to Leyland.

Very encouraging
A lot of people have forgotten about Carlos. The cool part is if/when he comes back, he will be like obtaining an all star at the trade deadline. He’s not what he used to be but he’s better then Anderson, Kelly, Raburn, Clete…etc. Get healthy soon Carlos!

well he was batting .200 before he went on the DL
so I’m not exactly sure we can guarantee he’s any better.
But it would sure as heck help if he was!

If he is the Carlos of old, he’ll help the lineup for sure. This team is need of a shot in the arm.
