Game 111 Thread of Shame
Well, that felt like the most torturous one-run loss I've ever sat through. You, too?
I know this sounds like whining, but I don't know how Red Sox fans sit through that game after game after game throughout a season. Obviously, working pitchers and extending them deep into ballgames is a strategy that works. But it can be excruciating to watch.
And if I never thought I'd see a weaker home run than A-Rod's little poke to right field at Yankee Stadium a few weeks ago, Jason Bay's pop fly down the left-field line convinced me otherwise.
Full recap tomorrow morning, after we all sleep this one off.

That's wacky sitcom stuff.
I like to leave in the middle of the night since I have trouble sleeping with other people in the same room as me.
Single 4 lyfe!
Shame that a game in which we actually scored 5 runs on the road should go to waste

polly baled grandy out...
But grandy couldn’t bail out leyland for his ridiculous decision to let everett hit in that situation. Could have used avila or ramon, or even raburn. Just awful. If you were going to bat everett, you had to squeeze him. Just finding out white sox got rios, too. Not a good night.

Honestly
I don’t feel terribly shameful about this one. I doubt that any of us had exceedingly high expectations about this game (I know I didn’t) and like I said before, could’ve been much worse. We fought back from an 0-4 deficit to tie the game and only lost by a run. Sometimes it seems like the team gives up when losing, but not this time, and it was really nice to see. And we were on ESPN proving that we can play baseball! So I’m choosing to be (perhaps foolishly) optimistic about it, if still frustrated with the loss.

I agree
This was not a bad game. It didn’t work out, but nothing to be ashamed of by Detroit. I do agree that Everett shouldn’t have batted but we had decent chances in the 7th and 8th and even in the 9th we had our power hitters up, just no joy tonight.
But I feel good about the rest of the series.
Oh! REMOTE SUCCESS!
apparently all you have to do is read the instructions inside the battery cover.
Maggs has now broken out of the .260’s and is batting .273 ………..Nice

Shortest Tigers Live postgame show ever
For what it’s worth, the mood on the radio postgame show is actually quite positive.

not sure the rios move helps the sox that much..
Makes them better defensively over pods, but that is a tough locker room controlled by the old timers. Not sure how rios will fit in. Of course, at the launching pad, he is worth a few home runs, minimum.

Not to mention the fact that their roster now consists of about 12 outfielders

Terrible AB by Everett
Couldn’t even put the ball in play. Classic popup by Curtis to follow. Very frustrating.

at least the tigers have been consistent all year in leaving runners in scoring position with 0 or 1 out. can u say TOAST?
I have seen them do much worse
than they did last night. It’s not over till it’s over.
