Game 112 Overflow Thread #2

We're currently waiting out a rain delay in the seventh inning.  Nothing like making a long night longer.  This is totally killing any adrenaline buzz that THE FIGHT created.

On the bright side, this should take Chris "Batting Practice" Lambert out of the game.  On the downside, the guy who came in for Kevin Youkilis has hit two home runs for the Red Sox.  Weren't you supposed to be hurt, Mike Lowell?

Red Sox 6, Tigers 3, as we wait to see if this game will resume.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of the Bless You Boys writing staff. However, it does reflect the views of this particular fan, which is as important as anything else written here at BYB.

Basically, Keith Law is saying that the umpires are to blame for this.

And Porcello shouldn’t have been ejected.

Looking at the radar...

…it does NOT look as though this rain’s gonna go on all night. And I know it seems like the Red Sox have an eleven-run lead or something, but it IS only 6-3. It’s starting to get a bit on the late side for a comeback, though.

So, just to make things clear...

Was Porcello ejected for throwing at Kevin Youkilis or for fighting with him? Because from the look of that YouTube video, he looked more like he was trying to defend himself than anything else.

But it wasn’t mine, so it was hilarious. And I learned never to lean against anything when at a truck stop, in case I might be propositioned. So that’s good to know for the future.

I know that BYB does not condone this behavior...

screw Kevin Youkilis.

Had a chance last night to charge after he was hit. He bitched enough as he walked up the line.

Like Mitch Williams said “Youk had his chance last night, why not go after Jackson when clearly you were whining and complaining then too?”

Screw Youk. As if his feminine batting stance wasn’t bad enough.

He could have charged Edwin Jackson last night, but I guess he decides to charge a 20 year old kid who weighs nothing instead. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think he ever charged Joba (another big guy like Jackson) even though he threw at him multiple times.

This may sound negative...

but it’s from someone who has traveled for 16 hours today. I love the fact that Rick stood up for his teammates. But to risk being tossed in a game this big is just awful. We had to have this win. Porcello gets tossed, likely suspended. We just our third starter for a minimum of two outings. I love the spirit, but boy, his timing was horrible.

Plus, we’re playing in a park that screams out for home runs to be hit. How many have we hit in two days off of pitchers screaming out to give up home runs? Zero.

Beckett throws tomorrow. Yikes. Lotsa heat on JV for Thursday.

Tonight was one bad night for this team.

If he wants to hit him, wait until later in the game when the the bullpen is set up a little bit better.

I know this is a little far fetched

but maybe Youklis went after Porcello on purpose, on the chance Kid Rick would be tossed for brawling. Thus screwing up out general game plan

So if Josh Beckett hits one of our guys...

…should HE charge the mound? ;-)

(Beckett IS the sort who would do that)

'Bout time for me to turn in as well

I got to go to UT to buy textbooks and get my financial aid situation sorted out, and then I have a doctor’s appointment, so it’s a busy day for me. I will probably NOT participate in tomorrow night’s Game Thread, but I may turn up if Galarraga does not start.

’Night everyone.
