Game 103 Overflow Thread
Not sure how much of a need there's going to be for this, as I imagine a lot of you would prefer to get on with your Sunday afternoons after the terrible effort the Tigers are putting up today.
Indians 8, Tigers 0 in the seventh inning, after an Asdrubal Cabrera homer.

did anyone put a warning on the thread last night?
Birthday cake, more birthday cake, chocolate cake, chocolate candy … I don’t think the celery and vegetables were adequate to counteract it. :)

it was originally given sarcastically

Why else would we care how a bunch of people we have never met perform at their jobs that have no direct influence on our own lives?

although I get depressed when the Tigers play badly
and am happy when they play well
no logical reason
of course they are
The Yankees never win when I want them to.

After a while I lost interest with making clothes and my sister and I took off Ken’s head and floated his body in the Barbie pool, then the Barbie’s played detective and tried to figure out who murdered him.

Question- What is worse?
The way Curtis hits against lefties or the way Galarraga pitches against them?
It must suck to be Rod or Mario in games like this.
At least we can amuse ourselves with pictures of food. I guess Mario’s “Penny Lane” line is the television equivalent.
someone suggested last night a TV crew that drank and made comments like we do
I think I would love that
You could tell they were getting irritated, specifically with two men on and no outs followed by popup, popup, strikeout.

actually, he's thinking of us
just trying to make the end come sooner. If I know Miguel, he’s probably thinking, “well sure, I could get a hit, but we’re ten runs down, and you know someone like Dusty Ryan would screw it up anyway, so why give my fans false hope?”

I predict a pretty weak series for Mr. Scott
Just 3 homers and somewhere around a .400 batting avg

well that sucked
and yet, if the Yankees hold on, we’ve only given back a half game off the lead….thank goodness the Tigers are in the AL Central

Hopefully the home stand is better
I’ll be at the Park on Sunday. I sure hope it’s better than this.
Well, this does not bode well for the rest of the season.
Ever since the All-Star break I’ve not had a good feeling about this team. I keep waiting for something to light a fire under the bats, and quite frankly, even if we’d gotten one in a trade it wouldn’t have made a difference. One person can’t carry the team.
We can cheer all we want about how having Washburn now will make a big difference in the playoffs, but we have to get there first and even if we do end up in first in the AL Central, we won’t get past the first post-season series.
To me, that is unacceptable in a team that has this much potential and talent.
I 100% agree.
There is no reason that there is only one batter with a +.300 BA in that lineup. Last night looked better, but today was embarrassing.
It is time for Leyland (or DD) to have a tirade in the locker room and demand improvement.
Dombrowski keeps saying that the talent is there, and he is right. We have 4 All-Stars on this team but can’t hit.
We couldn’t find a bat for trades, but there are a few in our own clubhouse that are lost underneath benches or somewhere. Put those to use.
They can win the division but against the East they are toast.
Yep
That 4 game series in Boston coming up next week could really be what buries us, assuming we are even in good shape after this week (anything less than 4-3 at home against the Orioles and Twins means we’re toast even before)
