Game 125: Detroit Tigers at LA Angels

Jarrod Washburn is not looking much different than he has in most starts, and a three-run homer in the second inning separates the teams. LAA 3, Tigers 1.

Kurt, Marquette’s too far north for me.

Kzoo isn’t that great (they’re trying to clean it up though. Moving WMU basketball and kalamzoo Wings hockey to downtown Kalamazoo. A little frightening). Portage is alright for a mind-numbing little suburb of 45K people.

There are streets that lead to nowhere, terrible parking situations and horrible layout.

With the green zones and building prohibitions the freeways are jammed and can’t be expanded.

I love Seattle but walking there is a much better proposition than having to drive anywhere there.

This year

The attendance has been great. It’s their third year, and the first couple there was a lot of losing. They are in a position to make the playoffs for the first time this year, and are doing incredibly well at home, so it’s actually fun to come out. A lot of the games I’ve gone to have had more than 5000 people (which is a lot here).

It will be sad when some of these guys get promoted and I won’t be able to see them anymore. It is fun to see Clayton Kershaw pitch and think that I saw him in a couple games before he made it to the Dodgers. :)

Yeah, I just looked it up (scroll down below the pictures for attendance). KZoo averaged less than 900 fans a game last year. In their best year, they averaged just about 1400.

Doesn’t help that the stadium is in a bad part of town, and the complete opposite side of the city from the main populous, and the stands look directly into the setting sun. It sucks.

You are luckier than you deserve there, Miner.

There is no way you should have gotten out of that with the lead with the crap you were throwing. Next time you f*** up like that, you will NOT get out of it that easily.
