Game 125: Detroit Tigers at LA Angels
Jarrod Washburn is not looking much different than he has in most starts, and a three-run homer in the second inning separates the teams. LAA 3, Tigers 1.

This year
The attendance has been great. It’s their third year, and the first couple there was a lot of losing. They are in a position to make the playoffs for the first time this year, and are doing incredibly well at home, so it’s actually fun to come out. A lot of the games I’ve gone to have had more than 5000 people (which is a lot here).
It will be sad when some of these guys get promoted and I won’t be able to see them anymore. It is fun to see Clayton Kershaw pitch and think that I saw him in a couple games before he made it to the Dodgers. :)

Yeah, that’s the big draw about minor league baseball. And 5000 is pretty hefty attendance. That’s awesome. A nice ball park + winning team does wonders.

Yeah, I just looked it up (scroll down below the pictures for attendance). KZoo averaged less than 900 fans a game last year. In their best year, they averaged just about 1400.
Doesn’t help that the stadium is in a bad part of town, and the complete opposite side of the city from the main populous, and the stands look directly into the setting sun. It sucks.

Haha, yes. I can’t imagine how bad that is. South Haven is the main beach area for people south of Grand Rapids and it’s the tiniest of towns. In the summer, you’re parking like 15 miles from the beach and having to walk there and whatnot. Tourist towns/cities/destinations have to suck.
