Game 126 Thread of Shame

It was probably too much to hope for a sweep in Anaheim, right?  Especially when the Tigers had already won their first road series since June.

Just remember: a lot of us said we'd be happy if the Tigers went 3-3 on this road trip.  It's just that very few thought they'd lose two in Oakland, but win two over the Angels.

Full recap later on.  But for now, we could at least complain about the consistently terrible camera angles used throughout the last three games.

When he went to sign off

He said “Now for Mario Impemba, I’m…”
And then realized what he said.

Strange things happen on the west coast, indeed. :)

Have a good evening, everyone.

Time to grab some food and run to the bead store for a few things. Catch you all later. :)

wheat or white?

Although I think you’d get pretty hungry waiting for it to be shipped to Texas. Give one of your students extra credit if they bring a loaf of bread to class tomorrow.

Re: Galarraga

Bilfer clears up a couple points on his Twitter page:

1) Galarraga would “technically” not be eligible for postseason. However, Joel Zumaya, by virtue of being on the DL on August 31st, will be. Galarraga can serve as an injury replacement.

2) Because the plan is to call him up in 10 days, they will not burn his option (apparently, you have to stay in the minors for 20 days to burn the option).

This road trip turned out better than I thought it would.

I can live with 3-6 out west.

Actually Galarraga is eligible - Zumaya isn't

They changed the rules because every team just made up fake injuries anyway, anybody on the 40 man roster on Sept 1st is eligible.

So Galarraga is and Zumaya isn’t, 60 day DL isn’t on 40 man roster

I could only listen in spurts this afternoon

But I did get to hear Everett’s home run and thought “Well hell, if Adam is hitting, time for everyone else to step it up.”

Like the team, I am happy to be headed back to home and EDT.

That's all they'll get...

Morneau made a nice play on Roberts to get the force out at home, and Casilla followed that up with an even better play to rob Cesar Izturis

Orlando Cabrera just got ejected

HP umpire has a quick trigger tonight. Cabrera slammed his bat in disgust after striking out, but not in the direction of the umpire or anything. The ejection seemed uncalled for.

By the way, after that, Joe Mauer grounded into a double play, so they go to the ninth, still 5-1 O’s.

You know, it just occured to me...

We’re done with the AL West. That’s a bit sad, actually. The Tigers played well against the West. Of course, there’s still a crapload of games left to be played against the Central.
