Game 140 Overflow Thread

So are you feeling better about this game than you were an inning ago?  Do the Tigers have yet another late-inning comeback in them?

And don't you just hate how far away that right-center field wall is sometimes?

Blue Jays 6, Tigers 4 going into the eighth inning.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of the Bless You Boys writing staff.

"B-Lyon?"

That’s…interesting.

Must post a zero...Mr. Lyon.

Then Leyland can use seven consecutive pinch hitters to get us the lead.

it looks like some kind of motor

With the gears and belt on the side, and it looks like electrical relays or something on the front. That is quite impressive.

also

The Loons are trying to kill me. Won the first game in Midland 7-2, lost the second in Grand Rapids 7-0, and currently tied 2-2 going into the 10th inning. I am now too nervous to listen on the radio.

okay, I lied

I was listening – Loons took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 10th, their closer on with the top of the order up for the Whitecaps.

NOW I’m too nervous to listen. For real.

Hope Lyon is back out

foir the 9th … Frasor isn’t automatic closing for them … I think this is his first season of 4 or 5 with an ERA under 4

We should send him some cheese to go with this.

RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

I love the Angels...

when they aren’t playing us. 2nd and 3rd, no one out, bottom 1.

by rook34 on Sep 11, 2009 10:20 PM EDT reply actions

Rodney, do not allow that run to cross.

We can still tie this thing. Not sure if we can win it, but we can get 2 runs.

Righty closer.

Do we pinch hit any of the first three? Or are we strictly swinging for the fence?

by rook34 on Sep 11, 2009 10:25 PM EDT reply actions

Your average Magglio evening lately.

2 for 5. No runs. No rbi. No extra base hits. We’ll take the baserunners, though.

LOONS WIN!!! LOONS WIN!!! LOONS WIN!!!

THEY MOVE INTO THE SECOND ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3-2 in 10 innings – next up, Fort Wayne TinCaps with their silly nickname and stupid-looking font and a player named Blake Tekotte who for some reason just scares me (as a player, not a person).

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry for the digression

But I was watching the Tigers and listening to the Loons on the radio simultaneously. One game was a lot more exciting than the other as far as I was concerned. :)

Yup.

One more clutch hit and we’re in extra innings.

What we need is to bust out with a four-run first and loosen up.

insult to injury

I’m also watching Jurrjens throw a shutout vs the Cardinals right now. 1-0 in the top of the 9th. He looks filthy

by Detroit4lyfe on Sep 11, 2009 10:32 PM EDT reply actions

hated losing Jurrjens at the time

And my hate has not dimmed at all. Still don’t like it and still cheer for him.

Yeah I'm right there with you..

although he wouldn’t be this good in the AL, he’d still be better than Gags/Nate.

by Detroit4lyfe on Sep 11, 2009 10:35 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not so sure

He was starting to get hit pretty hard in his final couple starts with the Tigers. He probably would be better than Nate, on par with Armando

by SabreRoseTiger on Sep 11, 2009 10:39 PM EDT up reply actions

As someone pointed out a while ago though...

…had he not been traded to Atlanta, he probably would’ve been sent to Florida in the Cabrera trade.

http://tigersamateuranalysis.blogspot.com

by SabreRoseTiger on Sep 11, 2009 10:35 PM EDT up reply actions

We would have lost him anyway in the Cabrera and Jitters deal later that offseason, so that makes it a little easier to live with

Perhaps the Halos can blow it open and I can go to bed.

Both the Red Sox and the Rangers were rained out

Perry once again gives up what amounts to be the difference between a chance and a loss

While the K Kings Inge and Granderson go 0-6 with only 1 strikeout between them tonight. At least Leyland moved Grandy down in the lineup against a starting lefty, Rayburn performed nicely in that role this evening.

by ryan_matthews28 on Sep 11, 2009 10:45 PM EDT reply actions

Inge walked twice, though
