Around SBN: The Gift Of The 2003 Tigers

Game 143 Overflow Thread

This game just fell off the table, with Justin Verlander suddenly pitching batting practice in the fifth inning.  The Blue Jays feasted on those hanging breaking balls.  But there's still two innings for the Tigers to mount a comeback.  Has optimism left the building?

Blue Jays 5, Tigers 2 heading to the bottom of the eighth.

Okay, Toronto's got a really good offense and a really good bullpen

How are they that many games under .500?

Too many games

Against the Yankees, Red Sox, and the Rays (before we broke them).

This is horrible.

It’s like the whole team decided to take the night off because JV was pitching. I’m probably just frustrated, but we just haven’t mounted any kind of resistance since very early.

by rook34 on Sep 14, 2009 9:29 PM EDT reply actions

Is JV himself included in that sentiment?

What’s his excuse?

odd coincidence

The Loons are also tied – but it’s 3-3 going into the 9th inning (and the officiating has been garbage for both teams).

Sadness. :( :( :( :(

Still, it was an awesome, awesome season – and they forced the best team in the league to three games, two of them extra innings before they could advance to the finals. I’m so proud of them.

But this is just so disappointing right now.
