Maybe

It’s the overpaid, underperforming bat in RF (Ordonez), the black hole in LF, the absence of bats at C and SS (Laird, Everett respectively), the sudden resurgence of a bat at 2B (Polanco) and a designated hitter who can’t hit (Huff).

Just sayin.

I believe the point was

you can’t blame McClendon for Laird not having a bat when you’re not playing him for his bat, you’re playing him for his glove. Ditto the shortstop. And really, ditto the second baseman.

to cheer people up

Check out the list here. Entries in a contest for the worst opening line of a novel ever – amazing and hilarious what people can do when they are trying to write awful stuff.

It will put a smile on your face and take your mind off the Tigers for a bit.

Awful.

Watched the last three innings from an east lansing bar, and I’m pretty sure I was the only one there watching that TV. People also seemed confused when I started cursing at the TV between downs. Screw the Twins.

What in the world is going on in the KC-White Sox game?

David DeJesus leaves the game in the middle of the second inning, John Buck replaced Miguel Olivo behind the plate in the third, and now Dusty Hughes has been replaced by Yabuta in the bottom of the fifth. I only have Gameday up. What’s the deal?
