Game 152 Overflow Thread

This game took on that feeling of dread for a while, as the Tigers wasted some scoring opportunities, while Justin Verlander seemed to think he could just throw the baseball past everyone on his way to falling behind 2-0.

However, the universe appears to have corrected itself, and Carlos Carrasco started hemorrhaging singles, leading to four Tigers runs.

Tigers 4, Indians 2 heading to the bottom of the sixth inning.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of the Bless You Boys writing staff. However, it does reflect the views of this particular fan, which is as important as anything else written here at BYB.

kinda make the point about bunting didn't it?

Bunt when you need one in the ninth (maybe). Not in the sixth.

by MackAveKurt on Sep 24, 2009 8:59 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I didn't see the reason to give up the out in that sitaution.

I’m against sac bunting. I can see doing it in extras or the 9th (maybe) but any earlier is crazy.

i know!!

i’ve been so busy. i had to write an article based on a contest we did. people wrote down a sentence and put it into a box. i had to make a story with ALL of them combined. some of them are really random, such as “i have just realized my dream of becoming buttered toast.”

i promise it’ll happen! probably after i recover from this weekend. bonfire party with my friends tomorrow and i stocked up on alcohol…

He got tossed for critisizing the strikezone from the dugout.

by happydrifter on Sep 24, 2009 9:21 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It happens in the top of the third

…but my video is so choppy I’m not sure what all they showed. He was yelling “Call some strikes already!” from the dugout and the umpire tossed him. It sounded like he yelled “You can’t do that to me” but didn’t come out of the dugout or anything, so it’s not likely to go beyond this game.

’sides, the Royals tanned our hides no problem and they were mojo-less aside from those two series.

Also, Grienke has to pitch twice against the Twins before the end of the year. The Twins haven’t seen him yet this season.

Just got finished with the FlashForward premiere

and now I cannot not watch this show.

Why? The lone person in the world (that we know of) who was awake during the flashforward was an unknown man at Comerica Park. Or at least, “a ballpark in Detroit”. So the episode ended with me yelling at the screen “Why the hell is Suspect 0 at a Tigers game!?”.

And I’ve heard Miggy has a bit part in a future episode, so…..

Invitation
