PrintFilthy, nasty - choose your adjective for what Justin Verlander is throwing out there tonight. The Tigers needed a stellar effort from him, and so far, they've gotten it.
Even better, the lineup has scored some runs for him. Magglio Ordonez whipped a two-run, two-out double in the third inning, and Brandon Inge continued his hot hitting from earlier today, smacking a two-run double of his own with the bases loaded.
Tigers 5, Twins 0 as we go to the sixth inning.

I want the Tigers to get into the playoffs but if the Twins did steal this division it’d be better than the bloody White Sox.

I find myself actually hating the Twins these days. I have genuine hatred for them. I don’t know if it’s their smug manager, their “playing the right way” team persona, their endless parade of mediocre — but strike throwing — pitchers… whatever, they can suck it.
