Game 133 Post-Gamer: Afterglow or Shame?
We won't have a chance to post a full recap until tonight, but if you want to talk about this afternoon's Tigers-Indians game, post your thoughts here. Are you basking in afterglow or wallowing in shame?
How did Nate Robertson look? Was Aubrey Huff able to keep up his production from Tuesday night? Is Alex Avila back on track with the bat? And did Carlos Guillen bring his big stick to the ballpark?
More later this evening. Thanks, as always.

pulling it over from the other thread:
I’ll take Carlos Guillen walk-off for $500, Alex!
And now at Beyond the Boxscore and Project Prospect!
Whooops. My bad. It just means we’re in for a couple more innings.
And now at Beyond the Boxscore and Project Prospect!
Yep
52 PAs in something like 27 games, does a good job when he gets some damn playing time!
2100 Woodward and Twitter
didn't rick have a great outing against the indians
and get robbed of the win, but we won in extras?
stupid indians.

We really, really, really want to pick up your option… Give us a hit to prove it’s a wise move.

Pla-ci-do! Pla-ci-do!
That’s why you’re my tiger. I will be sad if we do not bring my boy back next year.

Absolutely!
And lovin’ it! Let’s get that buffer up there a couple more games so we don’t have to sweat during that last week in the Dome from Hell.

No other tiger I’d rather see up there in that spot.

sweet
An almost perfect 10th inning all the way around.
Congrats to Miner, you deserved to get a win today. You too, Nate.
Does anyone else find it humorous/interesting...
that in a game featuring Robertson, Perry, Ni, and Miner, that Ni would be the one to have difficulties?

humorous might not be the right word, exactly
but yes, I am amused nonetheless

Comedy in the White Sox came.
Ozzie has Dye in the dugout holding a bat, and he’s showing him to Piniella to remind him he’s available to pinch hit. They’re both pointing and laughing at each other.
Gem Voided
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but we just wasted a gem by Nate ‘Freaking’ Robertson. Alas, a win is a win.
A win is a win
is a win. The only thing we “wasted” was Nate getting the win, and I don’t think anybody really cares. It’s not like he’s going to win the CY.
i feel all glowy inside
didn’t see extries coming, especially not after Nate’s 6 scoreless, but if it’s gotta be, this is the way to end it, a 1-2-3 top, a no problem, let’s score a run and get out of here bottom.
how sweep it is, eh?

boo, short post game.
now I have to clean my damn apartment. I was secretly kind of glad for the extras because it meant I could put it off some more.
I got into my car in the bottom of the ninth.
Then I drove ALLLLLLLLLL the way across town because a) that’s where the yarn shop is and b) no way I was getting out of the car and missing the end of the game.
11 over .500, baybee!

I read a portion of that as "YAM shop"
I LOL’d
yeah, I’m easily amused

Yay!
I got out of lab just in time for the bottom of the eighth, but there were major traffic issues on my drive home, so I got almost all my info from the radio. The only thing I saw on TV was the walk-off sac fly itself. And with that, we have a season-high win percentage. Let’s get another season-high win percentage tomorrow!

I took a look at the replay
Guillen looked a little funny with the big helmet, but he didn’t look as bad as David Wright.

Hmmmm … I wonder how this game will end? :)

just a thought
but if Nate can come back and be successful…
what are our chances that we get a decent Bonderman and/or Willis next season?
We could be looking at Verlander, Jackson, Porcello, Robertson, Galarraga, Willis, Bonderman as our starters.(assuming we have the means to bring back Verlander and Jackson).
Put together all of them at their best, and that’s a terrific bunch of pitchers.
gonna guess Bonderman will provide some service
Willis I think is done but we’ll see.
