Game 135 Overflow Thread
Once again, the Tampa Bay bullpen has been generous, blowing a three-run lead and letting the Tigers tie the score in the seventh inning. Bobby Seay just pitched out of a jam to keep them in the game.
Tigers and Rays tied 6-6 going into the eighth. Who's lookin' like a hero?

No, because this race has a long way to go

The Rays are pretty much done.
They have almost no chance and must play desperately for a win so they will sew together the parts of not so good pitchers and trot their monstrosity out there to hurl a few innings and then get chased out of the state by the five fans in attendance with pitchforks and torches.
It's true
There’s little to no hope left for a Rays fan.

The game...
I posted earlier about introducing an exchange student to baseball tonight. He asked early in the game how much like cricket it was…was hard not to laugh
well...
It has a ball and a bat. But it’s faster (although I guess they came up with a new version of cricket called twenty twenty where a game can be completed in a few hours instead of days).
Glad it was a good game for him to watch.

football is really hard to explain
Baseball I think is easier because you can explain stuff in the pauses.

Avila did what the brass hoped he would
He gave them more offense. That, along with the resurrection of the bats of Magglio and Polanco and Guillen have lead to some very good things.
