Also,
They have Alex Avila listed as the best defensive catcher in the Tigers system. I thought this was supposed to be the one area of Avila’s game that still needed considerable work!
He's certainly not a bad defensive catcher...
You are right, however.
President, Vice President and Secretary of the Casey Crosby Fanclub.
It sounds like he's got an excellent arm,
and it’s hard to believe that he’s only been catching for a couple of years, but I have a really hard time believing he’s the best defensive catcher in the Tigers system. My guess is they just didn’t want to put players on the list that are only organizational filler, like Max St. Pierre for example. And I suppose that makes some sense.
maybe that speaks about the rest of the catchers in the system
if so, scary thought

He also doesn’t have a lot of competition, to be honest.

BA
They have upside fetish- they’ll dock players like Sizemore because he just projects to be an above average 2B as opposed to having star potential. They also go gaga over tools.

I’m not the only one who isn’t high on him!

Yup. It’s annoying. I am not as high on casey crosby as you are (I need to see the BB’s come down before I go over the top because if they don’t, he’s LH reliever city), but no way he isn’t ahead of Jacob Turner at the moment for me.

Crosby's BB should come down
remember he’s not too far removed from TJ. Command is typically the last thing to come back after that type of surgery.
Yeah, I know. That’s why I’m not entirely ripping on him, because of the surgery. However, if they don’t come down this year, there’s a big cause for concern.

Pretty solid list
Nice to see Gustavo Nunez get some love. I was one of the only people to give him ink last season. I even chose him over Iorg on my 2009 Down on the Farm All-Star Team over at MAT.
The rotation they have projected looks pretty fierce too, eh!

Yeah, I love the projected rotation.
Not so sure about that lineup though. I really hope Inge is not still our 3B in 2013, but I guess we don’t exactly have anyone waiting in the wings.
BA has consistently said that people shouldn’t put stock into projected rotations/lineups. They tried to take them off but people clamored for them to be on there. They don’t go that in-depth in trying to account for who will be where.

Tru but...
I wouldn’t bee to suprised to see at least 4/5 of their projected rotation for 2013 as early as 2011.

That doesn’t make it something that they put a ton of effort in. Given how club-controlled out rotation is, it’s fairly easy thing to project.

I would hope that Verlander is still in the rotation in '13
as this would mean they inked him to an extension.
I'm curious why they think Fields will play right field.
Did he play outfield in high school? Did someone in the Tigers organization mention this as a possibility?
Even before he was drafted, there was talk of him possibly having to switch positions.
One of the conditions of his signing with the Tigers was that they give him a chance to stick at SS.
Did I miss something?
Why is Maybin named as part of the Tigers organization (under top picks of the decade)? Last time I checked, he was still in Florida.

I think that was a typo
they have him listed as playing 2009 with the Tigers in one spot and the Marlins in another.
and the spot in which they have him as a 2009 tiger is right under a mention of Andrew Miller...as a Marlin

Yeah. I know he plays with the Marlins
But the copy editor in me just had to mention it somewhere.
